Current

After twelve years in Dorset I moved back to Shropshire in 2014 and since then have been performing solo in clubs around the area accompanying myself with melodeon singing both traditional and self-penned songs.
In 2017 I released an album of self-penned songs that have Shropshire connections.

1990 to 2002

I worked as a professional musician touring primary schools throughout England with "The Tollhouse Company".
Based in Cambridgeshire the company was set up by three people: myself, Barbara Griffiths and John Crowe.
As a touring musical theatre company we worked in schools presenting history based musical shows for 4 - 11 year olds using folk based music and song.
The Company also had an on-going policy of providing musical theatre for adults.

For many years I was the caller and melodeon player with the popular Cambridgeshire based "Fen Blow English Country Barn Dance Band" (Previously known as "The Tollhouse Band" and "Lollypops and Bullseyes")

1980's

In 1980 I moved from Shropshire to Cambridgeshire and joined "English Tapestry" a (then) well known three part a capella group who performed at folk clubs and festivals all over the UK as well as overseas work.
I worked with English Tapestry for two years initially, returning for a further 18 months in 1984. The group consisted of founder members Ruth and Brian Brittain plus one.

Together with Barbara Griffiths and John Crowe "Witcham Toll" was formed to work on a project about Frank Kidson with Eric Cowell of Brewhouse Music who was his descendant. We subsequently performed at festivals and clubs throughout the country.

1970's

I was a committee member at the original "Meadow Folk Club" in Ironbridge, Shropshire, a club fondly remembered by many performers.
I was one of the organisers of "All Folk Around the Wrekin" a folk festival which ran for several years in Telford.
I was also involved in the early days of The Iron Men and Severn Gilders Morris sides.
